Summary of One Source Training Projects
January 2007
One Source builds on the expertise of Iowa’s 15 Community Colleges to meet the training needs of Iowa employers and organizations with the need to train in multiple locations.
History:
In 2001, the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees and the Community College Presidents determined a need existed for a single point of contact for the development and purchase of training services to meet the needs of businesses and organizations that serve the state. In 2002, Iowa’s fifteen (15) community colleges combined financial and human resources to form “One Source Training,” a single point of contact for pricing, contracting, organizing training delivery and billing. The same quality training is achieved regardless of location for the same price employing the same curriculum. The community colleges provide all the resources for training development and for the delivery of training.
Each college pays an equal annual assessment for the operation of One Source. Additionally, the Iowa Department of Economic Development contributes funds. On January 1, 2006, One Source Training became a division of the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees.
